Present is a voice-based daily check-in app created by Yelena Zhu. Each day, Present asks you a short question, listens to your answer, and reflects it back to you — helping you notice patterns in a decision you're sitting with, without judgment or advice. This policy explains what data Present processes, why it is needed, and how you can control it.
Present collects only the data needed to provide the product:
Present does not sell your data, run third-party advertising trackers, or use your saved check-ins for advertising.
When you record a check-in, the audio is sent over HTTPS to Present's secure backend and then to OpenAI (Whisper) for transcription. After transcription, Present stores the transcript and the AI outputs you choose to save, but not the raw audio file.
Your transcript and saved check-in content may be sent to OpenAI to generate summaries, keywords, recurring-pattern analysis across your check-ins, and reflections such as "For future you." This processing only ever summarizes what you already said — it does not add outside advice or judgment.
Present saves check-ins locally on your device first. If you sign in and enable cloud sync, your saved check-ins and goal data are stored in Supabase so you can restore them and use them across devices.
If you use guest mode, your saved check-ins remain on the device unless you later sign in and enable cloud sync.

Saved check-ins and goal data are kept until you delete them individually from the Log tab, clear local storage, or request account deletion. Usage and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, and service operation.
To request deletion of your account and cloud data, use the "Delete account" option in the app's Profile tab, or contact cs@exitpresent.com.
Present uses HTTPS/TLS for data transmission. Cloud data is protected with Supabase authentication and row-level security so users can access only their own saved entries. Secrets such as AI keys and database service keys are kept on the server side, never in the app.
No system is perfectly secure, but Present is designed to minimize stored sensitive data, especially raw audio.
Present is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
This policy may be updated as Present changes. The latest version will be posted on this page.
